01
A per-boat fare and a shared ticket are different purchases
The city fare is charged per boat. A shared online ride is arranged differently, with its own meeting place and ticket details; a pre-booked private ride may also cost a different amount. Think about whether you’d like to share the boat, then compare the total for your group.
The Comune di Venezia publishes the current gondola tariffs and passenger limit. The fares above were checked on 19 October 2026. Online tour prices are separate and appear with the ticket choices.
02
Work out the total for your own party
When comparing prices, include everyone in your party and look at the final total for a shared ticket beside the per-boat fare. If you prefer a private ride, check the passenger limit and make sure the boat is reserved for your group. The ride time and any extras can differ too.
Travelling with more than five people? You’ll need more than one gondola. Some shared seating choices can place one booking on separate boats, so check how your group will be arranged.

What the gondola experience adds
The Grand Canal gondola ride lasts about 30 minutes on the water. Some tickets also include an introduction, commentary, the Gondola Gallery, VR or a visit to Ca’ Rezzonico. These extras can make your overall visit longer, so choose the ones that interest you.
If you’d like commentary, you can choose between audio in the app and live guide commentary on certain tickets. Download app audio before boarding. A private gondola keeps your party together; other extras depend on the ticket you choose.
04
Before you pay
Before you book, check the date, group size, ride format, time aboard, meeting point and cancellation terms. Then compare the full price for the experience you’d like. If your main reason for going is the ride itself, there’s no need to add visits you don’t plan to use.
