01

What fits into the guided outing

On Murano, you can watch an artisan at work during a glassmaking demonstration, then browse and explore. Burano offers a different scene, with painted houses along the canals and its lace-making tradition. Your guide accompanies the crossings and introduces each visit.

The five hours include the boat crossings as well as the island stops, so there’s time to see both without giving the whole day to the outing. The visit order can change with local conditions; your guide will keep you posted on the day.

02

Which island should you spend longer on?

If watching glassmaking is what you’re most looking forward to, spend a little longer browsing Murano. If you’d rather wander among colourful houses and canals, enjoy an easy stroll around Burano. Each island has its own character, so it’s hard to go wrong.

Seeing both makes the contrast between the islands part of the fun. If one has already caught your imagination, plan a separate visit and stay on after a group has returned.

03

Shared group or private boat?

The Murano and Burano tour travels by boat chartered for the excursion. The small-group ticket is shared with other visitors, so the boat isn’t reserved just for your party. If you’d like a private outing, check for an option that says so.

The glass and lace stops are demonstrations, where you watch the craft being made. For a hands-on activity, look for a separate workshop that welcomes participants.

04

Leave room around the departure

Find the meeting point before you set off and leave a little room after the return time. Bring comfortable things for walking and leave large bags behind. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users or guests with mobility impairments.

The lace demonstration may not be available on Mondays from November to March. If you’re especially keen to see it, check the arrangements for your date before booking.
